英文摘要 | The main purpose of the proposed project is the ''Full Characterization of the Quantum Effects of Light after Transmission through the Atmosphere''. In the present literature this complex problem has not been studied yet. Besides efficient methods of characterizing the quantum state of light, experimentally applicable methods are needed, which allow recording and processing of data.First, we want to characterize the nonclassical radiation properties after passing the turbulent atmosphere. For this purpose we will investigate nonclassicality quasiprobabilities, which include the effects of turbulence. This also requires to develop proper measurement strategies and state engineering protocols.Second, we will focus on robust quantum correlation properties of transmitted radiation fields. In this context we characterize and quantify entanglement, using the methods recently developed in the group for optimal witnesses or entanglement quasiprobabilities. We also plan to study general space-time dependent quantum correlations for atmospheric quantum communication.The results of these investigations are expected to yield a deep understanding of quantum properties in turbulent media. In particular, we plan to identify those types of quantum effects which are most robust against atmospheric disturbances. This knowledge is the basis of powerful methods for quantum communication, ranging from the most suitable data encoding by the sender, the secure data transfer, towards the optimal detection and decoding. Taking into account the atmospheric conditions, turbulence can even serve as a resource for quantum communication. |
