英文摘要The aim of this project is to explore the molecular mechanism by which the GTPase FlhF and the ATPase FlhG orchestrate the positioning, number, and function of flagellar systems in the model organism Shewanella putrefaciens CN-32. One part of the project will concentrate on the role of FlhF in polar recruitment of flagellar components via the SRP pathway. In a second part, we will aim at establishing how FlhG executes its function at the flagellar basal body, and how FlhF/FlhG may affect transcriptional control of flagellar production. We will further address the question of how the two conserved proteins FlhF and FlhG regulate a number of diverse flagellation patterns in various bacterial species.
