英文摘要 | The ocean plays a crucial role as a heat reservoir on our planet. Changes in ocean temperatures, which are influenced by atmospheric pressure and climate change, significantly impact marine ecosystems. In this study, we examined the characteristics and fertility of the northern waters of Aceh (NWA) based on temperature, salinity, Mixed Layer Depth (MLD), and Chlorophyll-a. We also assessed the relationship between MLD and Chlorophyll-a, making predictions based on the data obtained from a three-dimensional model developed by the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service and Aqua MODIS spanning from 2016 to 2019. According to the results, Sea Surface Temperature (SST) is lower during the Northeast monsoon and higher in the first transition (northeast monsoon to southwest monsoon). Specifically, during the Northeast (NE) monsoon, SST can reach 28.85 degree celsius, while in the first transition, it rises to 30.67 degree celsius. Low salinity is observed during the Southwest (SW) monsoon and the second transition (SW to NE monsoon). A low surface temperature and salinity standard deviation positively correlate with a deep MLD. The deep MLD predominantly occurs near the coast of NWA, reaching a peak of 34.4 m during the SW monsoon. Chlorophyll-a concentrations were high near the coast, with the peak occurring during the Northeast monsoon. On the surface of NWA, we observed a negative correlation between MLD thickness and Chlorophyll-a. |
