英文摘要	Global tourism is currently responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions (Lenzen et al. 2018) and therefore makes a significant contribution to anthropogenic climate change (Strasdas & Zeppenfeld, 2016). In the future, the tourism-related carbon footprint will become even larger due to the rapid growth of the tourism industry, as the demand for travel will increase and the decarbonisation of the industry will only progress slowly at the same time (Lenzen et al. 2018). Against this background, this article develops a tourism climate budget as a possible emissions reduction measure and analyses its hypothetical effect on demand-side travel decisions. The budget aims to limit CO2 emissions for German holiday trips in order to ensure that no more emissions are emitted than are compatible with the Paris climate targets.
