Discovery of Indosinian highly fractionated granites in the Chaqiabeishan area, NE Tibetan Plateau and its prospecting significance

英文摘要A pegmatite-type Li-Be deposit was discovered in the Chaqiabeishan area along the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. However, no granitoid intrusions associated with this Li-Be mineralization have been recognized, which restricts the studies on metallogenic regularity and metallogenic prediction. This paper reports the monazite and zircon U-Pb ages, zircon Hf isotopic composition, whole-rock geochemical and Nd isotopic data of the newly recognized granite of the Asiheta pluton in Chaqiabeishan area which petrologically consists of biotite granodiorite, biotite granite and garnet-bearing granite. Zircons from the garnet-bearing granite yield wide U-Pb ages ranging from 248Ma to 232Ma, and monazites yield weighted mean ages of U-Pb ages of 243.0 +/- 1. 1Ma and 246. 3 +/- 1. 0Ma. The garnet-bearing granites are characterized by high SiO2 (76. 56% similar to 77. 70%) and K2O + Na2O (7. 81% similar to 8. 50%), and low Fe2O3 (T) (0. 50% similar to 0. 73%) and MgO (0. 003% similar to 0. 072%) contents. They have a differentiation index of 94 similar to 96 and an aluminum saturation index of 0. 98 similar to 1. 09, belonging to the weakly peraluminous high-K calc-alkaline series. They are enriched in K, Rb, Th, U and Pb, and strongly depleted in Ba, Sr, P, Eu and Ti. They also have high Rb/Sr (12 similar to 93), low Zr/Hf (11 similar to 18) and K/Rb (61 similar to 93) ratios, with a whole-rock epsilon(Nd) (t) of -5. 53 similar to -5. 26 and a zircon epsilon(Hf)(t) of - 5. 1 similar to 0. 2. Therefore, the Asiheta granitic intrusion is dominated by highly fractionated I-type granite formed by partial melting of Proterozoic lower continental crust with some addition of minor mantle-derived mafic magma or juvenile crust. Integrated analysis implies that highly fractionated granite in the Asiheta area has the potential to form rare metal deposits dominated by beryllium, and the Li-Be mineralization in this area is of multi-staged nature.
