英文摘要Aerosol particles are among the major climate forcers in the Arctic. However, current estimates of their climate forcing remain uncertain, because a) the contributions of natural and anthropogenic emissions are unclear, and b) only extremely scarce information from the Russian Arctic, the largest sector, is available. Our aim is to understand the natural and anthropogenic emission sources and seasonality of aerosol in the Russian Arctic. In particular, we will focus on the Hydrometeorologycal Observatory Tiksi and the Ice Base Cape Baranova that represent partially human influenced and very remote environments, respectively. We will conduct the first high-resolution mass spectrometric analysis of aerosol filter samples from the Russian Arctic. Through performing statistical analysis on the chemical fingerprints, which we obtain from the mass spectra, we will be able to identify emission sources. Our source apportionment analysis will constitute a substantial knowledge gain for the seasonal variations of natural and anthropogenic aerosol sources. These data can be used to improve model predictions of aerosol loadings and deduce climate effects from it. Specifically, the results of this study will be used in the next assessment report on Short-Lived Climate Forcers (SLCFs) in the Arctic, which is written by the Expert Group on SLCFs of the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme of which the applicants are members.
