英文摘要 | Microplastics have adverse effects on marine organisms. However, there are limited data on microplastics distribution patterns in various tissues of marine organisms. Microplastics in seawater and nine types of tissues of the Zhikong scallop (Chlamys farreri) from three coastal aquaculture areas were analysed. The results showed that in seawater, microplastics were mainly fibrous. There were no significant differences in microplastics abundance among the three areas. The concentrations of microplastics in the scallop anus, intestinal tract and kidney were substantially higher than those in the other tissues. Microplastics abundance ranged from 8 to 13 particles per scallop. Microplastics colours were mainly black, transparent and blue, and there were no significant tissue distribution patterns. Microplastics size ranged from 5 μm to 1 mm. The microplastics abundance in the haemolymph was significantly correlated with those of the surrounding seawater. Additional study is necessary to determine the toxic effects of microplastics on marine organisms. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd |
