| 中文摘要 | The World Biodiversity Forum is an open science conference, aimed at exploring the future of biodiversity, and setting an agenda for biodiversity research across disciplines and sectors for the next decade. The conference is addressed at researchers, practitioners, representatives from different sectors, decision-makers and societal actors working broadly on biodiversity, ecosystem and global change topics, and investigating the role of humans as agents of global change. The sessions, workshops and debates cover a wide range of perspectives, offer a platform for exchange and allow to capture a diversity of visions. The four conference themes reflect the broad nature of the conference: 1. Changing Biodiversity - response of biodiversity and ecosystems to global change2. Values and Concepts - human agency in the protection of biodiversity3. Future of Biodiversity - potential pathways to desirable futures4. Making an impact - relevance of biodiversity for human well-being.We have invited internationally renowned plenary speakers of a variety of disciplines, from ecology to philosophy, whose talks reflect the themes of the conference. The speakers will introduce the current work and state of the art in their discipline, framing the conference, and setting the scene for sessions and discussions.The expected outcome of the conference is a statement on the direction / agenda for biodiversity research for the next decade, and a contribution to the post 2020 global biodiversity framework. We are also envisioning a special issue, based on the plenary lectures, and are encouraging session and workshop organisers to produce journal articles or policy briefs. |
