英文摘要	Mathematical modeling of melting (ablation) on the surface of the Greenland ice sheet is one of the challenging tasks of the modern glaciology. Normally, the ablation rate is evaluated by using one of the two methods - either by the index-temperature method or by the energy balance method (or by combination of both). The pitfall of either method is realistic approximation of the daily amplitudes of surface air temperatures and of the mean square errors of surface air temperatures. In the paper, an approach is proposed for approximating the equations of both characteristics. Final approximating models allowed us to establish the dependence of surface air temperatures daily amplitudes on time and on the absolute height above the sea level. © 2018 Academic Publishing House Geo.
