英文摘要Global temperatures have warmed by about 0.7°AC since the beginning of the instrumental record and projections suggest that the warming may accelerate in the next decades. Pelagic ecosystems are highly sensitive to climate change and the chapter shows that current global warming is already affecting pelagic ecosystems and their biodiversity. Alterations are observed at both the species and community levels and have triggered phenological and biogeographical shifts as well as abrupt ecosystem changes. Such biological and ecological shifts may have strong consequences on biodiversity and both provisioning and regulating services. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
